Above the Stove, Reconciliation with the Past
Head chef Lin Cheng poured his life savings into running a farmhouse restaurant in partnership with his wife's family, only to be continuously bled dry and squandered by his brother-in-law. Even the life-saving surgery money for his father was taken by his wife to buy a car for her brother. Seeing through his wife's blind filial piety in supporting her younger brother and the endless exploitation from his in-laws, Lin Cheng resolutely divorced and left with nothing. Penniless, he set up a food stall at a night market, skyrocketing to fame with his top-notch culinary skills. The Su family lost its pillar and rapidly declined, even planning to sell their daughter for a bride price. Amidst desperation, the wife finally awakens. A grassroots story about family exploitation and a counterattack rebirth unfolds from here.
