Qin Feng, the master of the Divine Weapons Pavilion, is betrayed and murdered by his disciples Zhang Hong and Tang Yi. His soul travels into the body of Bai Jing, a frail young man. At the sword-forging tournament, Bai Jing astonishes everyone with his peerless forging skills: he shatters a boulder with one finger and summons a golden dragon with one hammer strike, defeating Yu Rui, the young master of the Yu family, and earning an invitation to the Divine Weapons Pavilion. After joining the pavilion, he discovers that Zhang Hong and Tang Yi have allied themselves with Japanese swordsmiths and are slaughtering the great families of the Central Plains with the sinister blade Muramasa. Yu Rui sacrifices himself to help Bai Jing forge a divine weapon named Yu Rui. Together, they destroy Muramasa and eliminate the traitors. Bai Jing becomes the new master of the Divine Weapons Pavilion and restores the glory of sword-forging in the Central Plains.

Qin Feng, maître du Pavillon des Armes Divines, est trahi et assassiné par ses disciples Zhang Hong et Tang Yi. Son âme transmigre dans le corps de Bai Jing, un jeune homme maladif. Lors du tournoi de forge des épées, Bai Jing stupéfie toute l'assemblée grâce à son talent incomparable : il brise un énorme rocher d'un seul doigt et invoque un dragon doré d'un seul coup de marteau. Il vainc Yu Rui, le jeune maître de la famille Yu, et obtient une invitation au Pavillon des Armes Divines. Une fois entré dans le pavillon, il découvre que Zhang Hong et Tang Yi se sont alliés à des forgerons japonais et massacrent les grandes familles des Plaines centrales à l'aide de la lame maudite Muramasa.
