Lin Yu, an experienced sea fishing enthusiast, is reborn in 1983 as an ordinary boy in a seaside fishing village in Northeast China. With extreme poverty, a dilapidated house, and a severe shortage of food and clothing, life is tough. His mother struggles painfully in hardship, and his sister was nearly claimed by illness. Lin Yu is determined to shoulder the burden and become the family's pillar, beginning a new journey toward a prosperous life. As the saying goes, those living by the sea make their living from the sea: the surging ocean holds endless hope and vitality. Temporarily boatless, Lin Yu finds another way—chasing waves to catch fish as the tide rolls in, and beachcombing along the shore when it recedes.
