Marshal Tianpeng was banished to the mortal realm and accidentally cast into a pig's womb, becoming Zhu Bajie, due to an unfulfilled promise and an inexplicable drunken blunder. He thought he could only spend the rest of his life 'going with the flow'—accepting whatever others said and giving whatever others asked for. But when he meets his former subordinate Xuanlan again, encounters Gao Cuilan, and joins Tang Seng and his disciples, he gradually comes to understand that going with the flow does not mean resigning oneself to fate. The path he must walk is from 'anything goes' to 'I am willing', and finally to 'this time, I choose for myself'.
