Barren Year Has Granary, Leading Whole Family to Open New Village
During a severe drought and barren year, internal strife broke out within the Ruan family, and clan leader Ruan Shoucheng seized the opportunity to plunder the grain and land of his clansmen. Ruan Qinghe fled with her family to the abandoned Qinglan Depression, relying on the seed grain left by their ancestors to survive. The water source here was treacherous, but she united the refugee commoners, overcame water shortages, floods, and internal division, and resisted the coercion and scheming of Ruan Shoucheng. Everyone built canals and dams, established a work-point bookkeeping system, and reclaimed barren land. Through evidence disputes and crisis games, they defeated Ruan Shoucheng's conspiracy, successfully applied for residence registration, and established the new village of Qinglan. However, the northern dikes burst, and a large number of refugees followed one after another, while the mystery of the old granary also surfaced.
