In the severe drought of the 1980s, Chen Dashan in Hongxing Village lost his wife and was forced with his five children by clansmen into a dilapidated thatched cottage. At a critical moment, a sudden thunderbolt struck a withered tree stump, producing five spiritual fruits. The children respectively awakened the abilities of divine power, perspective, adamantine physique, understanding of plants and vegetation, and healing vitality. Relying on their skills, the family found a spring, dug up mountain goods, fought locust plagues, resolved fevers, and diligently cultivated to harvest high-yielding improved varieties. Putting aside old grievances, they helped neighbors, led the whole village through severe natural disasters, and built new homes.
