Wen Yutang, daughter of the Great General, was decreed to be empress. Relying on the Qiankun Linglong Jade, she foresaw the tragic annihilation of her clan and her own horrific death. At the grand empress coronation ceremony, her concubine-born younger sister Yu Zhao plotted to frame her; Wen Yutang allied with imperial physician Shen Yunting to defuse the crisis, only to incur the suspicion of Emperor Gu Huaijin. Yu Zhao repeatedly orchestrated conspiracies, yet Wen Yutang dismantled them all one by one, ultimately driving Yu Zhao to drink poison and end her own life. Wen Yutang and Shen Yunting, having known each other since youth, relied mutually on one another. The emperor, obsessed with Daoist immortality and fearful of the military power and public support she commanded, plotted to execute and depose her. Seizing the initiative, Wen Yutang took control of the imperial guards, forced the emperor to abdicate, ascended the throne as the female emperor of Liang, and joined hands with Shen Yunting to rule the realm together.
