Xu Nanzhi, a true Beijing hutong guy, was raised single-handedly by master painting restorer Zhang Yunfeng. Overnight, he is recognized as the long-lost real heir of the Xu family in Shanghai. Yet all the Xu family gives him is a three-day visitor card, a noisy room and a black exhibition-staff vest — and the paintings he restored with his own hands are signed by the adopted son, Xu Baizhou. At the exhibition, Xu Nanzhi publicly exposes the fraud, President Qin arrives to set the record straight, and only then does the Xu family change its attitude. But Xu Nanzhi sees it clearly: they don't love him, they've simply found him "useful." After restoring one last Ming dynasty handscroll, he packs his bags and returns to Shouzhuo Studio in Beijing. But Wen Shichang teams up with the Lu family to frame the Zhang family, and a tough battle still awaits him at the National Appraisal Conference.
