In a post-apocalyptic era, the world is starkly divided between the opulent Upper City and the squalid Lower City. Despite earning top marks across all nine assessments, Lower City youth Ning Fan is disqualified from entering the Upper City due to his bloodline. Desperate to save his comatose, critically ill mother, he ventures into the perilous wasteland to join a crew of wanderers known as the Stray Dogs. Rising from a raw rookie to the backbone of the squad, he earns his comrades' respect through sharp wits and sheer grit. Facing deadly ambushes and entrenched class injustice, he stands shoulder-to-shoulder with his allies through trials of blood and fire—shouldering heavy burdens to champion loyalty and justice in a dark, unforgiving world.
