Xia Zhiwei kimliğini hiçbir zaman gizlemedi ve maddi durumu kötü olan üç üniversite öğrencisine tüm gücüyle destek oldu. Ancak karşılığında üçünün toplu ihanetini gördü. Üçü, kendi çıkarları uğruna onu şimdiye kadar elde ettiği her şeyden vazgeçmeye zorladı. Hatta yaralandığında bile ona kayıtsızca baktılar. Kalbi paramparça olan Xia Zhiwei, fırsatını bulunca geri çekilmeye karar verdi. Proje çöktüğünde ve tüm sorumluluk omuzlarına yüklendiğinde, üçü nihayet büyük bir felaketin kapıda olduğunu anladı. Xia Zhiwei maskesini çıkarıp gerçek kimliğiyle geri döndü ve ihanet edenlerin çaresizlik içinde kendi yaptıklarının bedelini ödemelerini, verdikleri kararlardan derin bir pişmanlık duymalarını sağladı.
