Chen Ye, an elite petroleum technician, risked his life in a raging sandstorm to secure 2 million yuan worth of crude oil for his boss, Lao Qian. Yet he received a mere 3,000 yuan in compensation and was humiliated by Lao Qian's nephew, Qian Ming, prompting him to resign in outrage. Along with his fiancée Shen Wei and assistant Shitou, Chen Ye relied on a legal secondary extraction permit for an abandoned marginal well and rented an old truck to strike high-purity gushing oil at Laniwan. Lao Qian and his nephew attempted to block them and steal the crude, bringing in heavy machinery that triggered a well blowout and structural collapse. Showing remarkable nobility, Chen Ye risked his life to save Qian Ming, put aside old grudges, and brought the uncle and nephew into his team. Together, they legally developed the oil reserves at Langhougou, established a company, and led everyone to prosperity.
