Greedy for high-priced wild fish and misled by Zhao Qiang and his father, the villagers ignored Lu Fan's warning of giant sea monsters lurking in the deep ocean. Insisting on tearing down the protective barrier nets, they even signed liability waivers taking full responsibility for any consequences. Once the nets were removed and tidal currents rushed in, sea monsters stormed into the fish farms overnight, destroying the entire village's aquatic stock and wiping out lucrative orders. Regretful yet eager to shift blame, the villagers repeatedly came knocking to demand compensation. Holding tight to his double-reinforced fish rafts and signed liability waivers, Lu Fan handled things impartially when villagers remained unrepentant and even deliberately slashed nets at night to harm others. In the end, Lu Fan softened his heart, leading the whole village to revolutionize flowing-water farming and build novel defense nets, helping the village achieve prosperity through scientific fish farming.
