On the most tragic day of Su Jinyu's life, snow fell in June as she was escorted up the mountain to be sacrificed to the thousand-year-old mountain fox. Her husband Xu Mingli ignored her desperate pleas, while his mistress Jiang Ying sneered triumphantly at her plot succeeding, and Old Madam Xu looked on with cold indulgence. At that moment, Su Jinyu bitterly regretted falling for the wrong man and taking in a matrilocal husband who plotted to devour her family's fortune. Vowing revenge if she survived, she was shoved into the ancient fox den. A delicate scholar grabbed her hand and urged her to run as the terrifying fox demon materialized around them. Yet in the very next second, Su Jinyu plunged a dagger straight into the fox demon's heart, turning her gaze upon the frail scholar.
