As heavy rain approaches during wheat harvest season, Li Dashan pays out of his own pocket to widen the village bridge so combine harvesters can enter to rush-harvest. Unexpectedly, the village bully Zhao Laoliu blocks the path with a coffin, demanding a 100,000 yuan "spirit protection fee" under the guise of feng shui. He also conspires with his family to throw shameless tantrums and colludes with grain merchants to depress prices and rip off villagers. Driven into a corner, Li Dashan demolishes the old bridge, leads the villagers to build a new path, and completely cuts off the Zhao family's evil plots. The wrongdoers scheme repeatedly and refuse to repent, ultimately reaping what they sow. Meanwhile, Li Dashan leads the village in united industrial development, building roads to revitalize the countryside and blazing a bright path toward prosperity.
