Drink a Sip of Water, Fined Me Eight Thousand
Veteran chef Chen Weidong poured his retirement savings into helping his son and daughter-in-law open a food stall, working unpaid for three years. Just for drinking a bottle of in-store mineral water, he was fined 8,000 yuan by his daughter-in-law, and his son favored his wife. Heartbroken, Chen Weidong dismantled and took away all his self-purchased equipment to return home, later hired as the head chef of a five-star hotel by an old acquaintance thanks to his exquisite culinary skills. Driven to desperation, his daughter-in-law's family successively plotted against him through cyberbullying, fake illnesses, and staged accidents, ultimately reaping what they sowed. The son repented and lived a down-to-earth life, and Chen Weidong secretly helped him, leaving room for father-son reconciliation.
