Bringing Two Daughters to Gather Seafood, I Rely on Killer Whales to Turn Things Around
After her husband perished in the vast sea, Shen Haitang struggled to make a living with her two daughters. Her husband's uncles usurped the family property, leaving her only a dilapidated house and a worn-out sampan. To feed her children, she ventured out to sea and rescued a young killer whale, A Mo, trapped in a fishing net. A Mo guided her to precious seafood. Shen Haitang did not blindly rely on the killer whale; with her seafood-gathering experience and business acumen, she controlled harvesting, protected seedlings, and expanded sales channels. She replaced her boats, formed a fleet, and established seafood grading standards.
