The Great Yong has fallen, the capital is lost, and the late emperor died for his realm. Princess Zhenguo, Wei Ci, fled with her young brother through mortal peril. Bearing witness to their shattered nation and slain kin, she swore a blood debt in return. Taking the alias "Yan Ci", she entered the royal court of Shuoting as a physician, scheming beside First Prince Helan Duo. Concealing searing hatred beneath a gentle facade and wielding cunning statecraft within the deep palace, she divides rival tribes and secretly obtains military maps, setting up a deadly web of vengeance step by step. From imperial princess to favored consort in enemy territory, she holds fast to her purpose amid power plays and tangled passions. When Great Yong's troops march upon the city, she slays her foe with her own hands, consoling fallen heroes with blood and flesh, pouring her life out upon the battlements in a tragic ballad of state and sacrifice.
