In 1934, a Kwantung Army surveying squad infiltrated Changbai Mountain, trapped a young dragon, and sealed it inside the Dragon-Locking Well. They murdered twenty-seven local villagers, using their spine bones to forge dragon-bone nails to suppress the subterranean evil aura. Grieving the loss of her offspring, the enraged mother dragon lost control, unleashing a massive avalanche that buried the entire forest. Harboring unrelenting resentment, her lingering dragon soul swore a blood oath to return every thirty-eight years to claim lives. In 2025, Detective Lao Xiao of the Special Incident Investigation Division is ordered to investigate the bizarre occurrences at the Dragon Well, only to discover his biological father was coerced into forging the bone nails back then. As the seal weakens and the vengeful dragon soul awakens right on schedule, the only way to quell the catastrophe is to retrieve every dragon-bone nail and reseal the Dragon-Locking Well.
