Warm Yingying
At the Grand Princess's sixtieth birthday banquet, Lu Chuheng, her devoted husband of forty years, unexpectedly brings along Wu Xuanniang, his "risen-from-the-dead" first wife, and their daughter to the manor. The first wife voluntarily asks to be demoted to a concubine, only begging for her daughter to be recognized by the family lineage, while Lu Chuheng and his son kneel in public to coerce the Princess into granting their wish. It is only then that the Princess realizes this marriage, bestowed by the former Emperor and praised as the model of Duanjing, harbors a lie the consort kept hidden for forty years. Back then, Lu Chuheng's deeply affectionate past—claiming his first wife had fallen off a cliff gathering herbs and died, leaving him a widower for two years—was entirely a meticulously woven hoax.
