Returning from his migrant work in the city, Niu Dan catches the Berserk Virus and mutates into a half-human, half-bull creature. Armed with torches, the whole village tries to drive him out, but his mother stands in front of the firewood shed wielding a pitchfork: "Just because I am his birth mother! I stake my life on him!" She tries everything to treat him with forage cakes, dandelions, old bull horns, and mutated herbs. Under his mother's devoted protection, Niu Dan gradually regains consciousness, grows brand-new horns, and ultimately flips an armored car, defending the village's medicinal fields and protecting his home.
