During the selection of the crown princess, Shen Chun, the daughter of the Right Chancellor of Daliang, and Wei Lanshan, the time-traveling daughter of a wealthy northwestern merchant, are both selected, transforming from "rivals in love" into close confidantes. With Shen Chun's benevolent medical skills and Wei Lanshan's modern mindset, the two join forces to break through the undercurrents of the imperial court and harem, fight for equal rights for women, resist injustice, break through shackles, and paint a moving picture of shared growth.
