In a turbulent and barren year of famine, corpses littered the wilderness and everyone feared for their lives. After falling into the water, Qin Muye awakened memories of his past life—he was originally an agricultural official at the end of the Shennong Dynasty, possessing the Ming-earth realm ability to discern soil veins and urge the growth of five grains. While others exchanged their children to eat amidst the chaos of flight, he led his family to reclaim wasteland, harness water, farm, and store grain. Starting from a few plots of lean land, he built water conservancy, established medicine fields, and opened trade routes. Refugees came to rely on him, and he opened his doors to take them in; gentry tried to oppress him, and he broke their schemes with his wisdom. In un anno turbolento e sterile di carestia, i cadaveri coprivano la campagna e tutti temevano per la propria vita. Dopo essere caduto in acqua, Qin Muye risvegliò i ricordi della sua vita passata: in origine era un funzionario agricolo della fine della dinastia Shennong, dotato dell'abilità del regno della terra luminosa per discernere le vene del suolo e stimolare la crescita dei cinque cereali. Mentre altri si scambiavano i figli per mangiarli in mezzo alla fuga, egli guidò la sua famiglia a dissodare terre incolte, imbrigliare l'acqua, coltivare e accumulare scorte di grano. Partendo da pochi appezzamenti di terra povera, costruì opere idrauliche, preparò campi medicinali e aprì rotte commerciali. I rifugiati si rivolsero a lui ed egli aprì le porte per accoglierli; la nobiltà terriera lo oppresse ed egli spezzò le loro trame con l'ingegno. Mentre gli estranei si massacravano per sopravvivere in tempi turbolenti, egli nell'anno di carestia, zappa dopo zappa, coltivò un luogo in cui nessuno raccoglieva ciò che cadeva per strada e le porte non venivano chiuse a chiave di notte.
