Northeastern artisan Chen Lidong works as an air conditioner installation and maintenance technician in Jiangzhou. Despite his solid skills, he has long been financially controlled by his wife Xu Hui, having to beg even for two yuan for the bus. Following a humiliating bus incident, he resolves to get a divorce. At work, project manager Shao Guobin switches out pipe materials which causes an accident, then shifts the blame onto him and fires and suppresses him. During his low point, good friend Ma Jinping helps him out, and the two found Licheng HVAC. Fellow peer Duan Wenkai and Xu Hui join forces to cut off supplies and obstruct them, while fittings shop owner Song Yeqing appreciates his integrity and continues supplying him. In the Yu'an Apartment pipe burst case, Chen Lidong uses evidence to expose the truth, clearing his grievance. He refuses to remarry, ends up together with Song Yeqing, and Licheng HVAC steps onto the right track.
