A science student unexpectedly travels through time and becomes Emperor Chongzhen. Facing a crisis beset by internal turmoil and external threats, he relies on modern knowledge and rational judgment to overcome one predicament after another and save the empire. He sends Qin Liangyu on a campaign, securing a great victory in Sichuan and Chongqing; purges the lingering abuses of the eunuch faction and recovers 800,000 taels in military funds to replenish the national treasury. He appoints Yuan Chonghuan to guard Liaodong and orders Sun Chuanting to reform the capital's military camps, standing firm against opposition to preserve the postal relay stations and stabilize public sentiment. From assuming the throne in a time of peril to governing with diligence and determination, he unites the people through practical leadership and ultimately opens the way for the Ming dynasty's revival.
