In broad daylight, the five colors of Danxia City are abruptly drained away; fire loses its heat, and flora ceases to grow. Sword cultivator Shen Yao and healer cultivator Yun Heng investigate the ancient Heavenly Painting Conduit, discovering that the Five Colors Palace has long used the mortal realm's color essence to sustain a celestial painting of a golden age that forbids reality from changing. Following the Color Return Ledger left by Dan Heng, they breach the palace to rewrite the ancient decree of fixed tints, restoring the five colors to their true earthly places and transforming the celestial map from a mold enforcing reality into an expansive scroll recording it.
