Failed the College Entrance Exam and Went to Carry Bricks, A Slip of Paper Changed My Destiny
Lin Xi is from He'an County. Her father died when she was young, leaving the entire burden of supporting the family on her mother's shoulders. When the college entrance exam results were announced, she had fallen just two points short of the cutoff for a first-tier university. Her family was deeply in debt and could not afford to let her repeat the year, so her mother urged her to give up her studies. With nowhere else to turn, Lin Xi went to a construction site in the county town to earn a living carrying bricks, believing she would be trapped there for the rest of her life. On the evening of her seventh day at work, Zhou Zhiping, a female construction foreman, noticed the light in her eyes and handed her a slip of paper bearing a phone number, telling her that she did not belong on a construction site. Lin Xi é natural do condado de He'an.
