Five Thousand Fines Cannot Cook a Pot of Freshness
Top chef Gu Chengchuan, in order to secure a million-dollar wedding banquet, temporarily replaced ingredients and went 50 yuan over budget, but was fined 5,000 yuan for violating regulations. Disillusioned, he thereafter strictly cooked according to cost standards. Unexpectedly, the Jinlan Banquet Mansion later, to compress costs, replaced high-end wedding banquet ingredients with low-priced goods, causing a major wedding banquet disaster. Unwilling to take the blame for the company, Gu Chengchuan chose to resign and joined a new hotel, upholding the bottom line of his dishes. In contrast, Jinlan, due to losing credibility with customers, customer attrition, and internal problems erupting, ultimately suspended business and went bankrupt.
