Cliffside Swiftlet Nest Gatherer: After Hardship Comes a Road to the Azure Clouds
Born with a deformed foot, Chen Moshan has lived under other people's roofs since childhood. He makes his living by climbing sheer cliffs to harvest blood-red swiftlet nests, risking his life year after year on slippery, treacherous precipices. His uncle's family exploits his hard labor and withholds all his wages. His marriage prospects also fall apart when his fiancée's family looks down on him for having no money. Having endured endless humiliation and betrayal, Chen Moshan resolutely breaks ties with the Zheng family and sets out on his own, relying solely on his cliff-climbing skills. During the rainy season, dangerous cliffs, harassment from fellow workers, and schemes by relatives and friends come one after another. Yet he stands firm by his safety principles: no work on rainy days, protecting young swiftlets, and always using double safety ropes. He refuses to risk his life for profit.
