In the 1970s countryside, Lin Qiutang, an enduring and mistreated daughter-in-law, suffers constant cruelty from her biased mother-in-law Zhou Guilan and ridicule from her sister-in-law Su Qiaozhen, while her husband Chen Shouye remains cowardly and blindly filial. Pushed to the brink, Lin Qiutang resolutely demands a family division, taking her husband to live in a run-down mud-brick house and vowing to rely on herself amid adversity. Starting from running a street food stall and dealing in local mountain products, she works diligently with integrity, overcoming harassment from her in-laws, malicious sabotage, and framing by competitors along the way. Joined later by a repentant Su Qiaozhen, they rally rural women to build prosperity together by founding a mountain produce cooperative. In the end, Lin Qiutang counterattacks to become a female entrepreneur, leading the entire village to wealth and prosperity.
