Qi Yan, heir to the Prince of Zhenbei, commands 160,000 border troops. In his previous life, he mistakenly trusted Consort Rong's upbringing and helped her daughter Xiao Mingyuan ascend the throne, only to be betrayed and destroyed. Reborn back to the day of the imperial marriage decree in the golden palace, he publicly refuses Xiao Mingyuan and instead asks to marry the sickly eldest princess Xiao Zhitang, who lives secluded in the cold palace. Joining hands as allies, they unravel Consort Rong's faction step by step. Qi Yan surrenders 30,000 troops to push Xiao Zhitang to become Crown Princess. On their wedding day, the used-and-discarded Xiao Mingyuan creates a scene, revealing the shocking secret that Qi Yan is not the biological son of the Prince of Zhenbei. As the battle for succession escalates, Qi Yan leads his armies into battle to utterly crush Consort Rong's ultimate conspiracy.
