Chen Ping, a repairman in Chenjiawan, has fixed appliances for his fellow villagers free of charge for fifteen years. His repeated selfless efforts, however, were gradually taken for granted. When a cold storage malfunction occurs, he insists on charging standard rates, only to be surrounded and accused by the villagers. Heartbroken, Chen Ping establishes a new rule: charge by the price, respect the craft. He takes on apprentices, opens a shop in the city, and faces competition and misunderstandings head-on. From being ostracized by the whole village to earning widespread recognition, everyone finally realizes: kindness must have boundaries, craftsmanship deserves respect, and village bonds without rules never last long.
