After six years of hard work supporting his family, skilled craftsman Chen Zhiguo is humiliated by his wife, Lin Jiaxin, over a five-yuan serving of steamed buns, prompting him to decide to divorce her. At work, manager Su Youcai secretly swaps the materials and forces him to bear enormous compensation costs, withholding his pay, dismissing him, and ruining his reputation to blacklist him from the industry. At his lowest point, Chen Zhiguo receives support from his brother Zhao Daqiang and former classmate Xu Siyi, and establishes Double Craftsman Renovation. With his excellent skills and integrity, he earns a strong reputation. Facing the combined suppression of Lin Jiaxin, Xu Zeyu, and Su Youcai, he stands firm on his principles, clears his name with evidence, exposes a scam involving substandard pipes, and leads his fellow workers in completing a residential community renovation. In the end, he recovers the money owed to him, refuses his ex-wife's plea to reconcile, and begins a new life alongside Xu Siyi.
