From Walled City Factory Girl to Hong Kong Island Queen - Season 1
In 1979, nineteen-year-old Jiang Ayue was sold by her father to a widower for 350 yuan. That night, clutching the jade Guanyin left by her great-great-grandmother and a map of Hao Gang, she leaped into the Shenzhen River. The dark alleys of Kowloon Walled City, the sewing machines of the garment factory, and the moonlight of Sham Shui Po were her starting points in Hao Gang. Everyone said that women from the mainland had only two paths, but she insisted on walking a third. From an undocumented female worker to a stockbroker, from a partitioned room to a luxury mansion on the Mid-Levels, within a decade Jiang Ayue lived to become Jiang Jianyue on the financial headlines.
