Li Dashan's hard-earned cherry orchard has long been pilfered by his neighbor, Aunt Liu. After repeatedly putting up with her to no avail, he finally uses his own methods to protect his orchard. Aunt Liu throws a tantrum and makes a scene, but is exposed on the spot. Repaying malice with kindness, Dashan allows her to work off her debt. Later, Dashan's cherries catch the eye of a provincial capital company, leading to a long-term contract. He then leads the entire village in cultivating cherries to achieve shared prosperity, and Aunt Liu mends her ways and becomes part of the community.
