Lin Wan shared an apartment for a year, cooking dinner every day after work and charging her roommates only 500 yuan a month for ingredients, often paying out of her own pocket. When new roommate Zhou Ke falsely claimed her boyfriend could cook for everyone for free long-term, the roommates turned against Lin Wan, demanding refunds and accusing her of pocketing price differences. Lin Wan refunded the money and stopped cooking. After enduring disrespect while eating the free meals and getting food poisoning from spoiled ingredients once they started paying, the roommates suffered. Lin Wan showed the detailed accounting records, decisively moved out, and opened a lunchbox food stall, refusing their apologies and pleas to stay. Zhou Ke's scheme to sell meals under Lin Wan's name was exposed, forcing her to refund customers. In the end, Lin Wan thrived in both life and career, while her former roommates were left to fend for themselves.
