Shen Guilan, a widowed and living alone soft-hearted woman, takes in Zhou Shikang (Zhou Daqiang), who claims to be her deceased husband's younger brother, providing him with free housing. Zhou Daqiang fabricates his identity and secretly prepares materials in an attempt to misappropriate the property. Shen Guilan accidentally discovers evidence of the conspiracy, and her son verifies upon investigation that the other party is a habitual fraudster. Zhou Daqiang stirs up public opinion and intimidates the mother and son, but they calmly gather evidence, join forces with other victims to assist the police in deploying a trap, and capture the suspect on the spot. The police trace the clues to unearth an information resale and counterfeit certificate syndicate, and all members are sentenced. Walking out of the haze, Shen Guilan transforms the old house into an elderly anti-fraud publicity post, becoming a silver-haired anti-fraud volunteer.
