When an old house in an urban village is demolished, a compensation of 1.2 million falls into the hands of elderly widower Wang Jianguo. Having lived frugally his entire life, he is in no rush to enjoy the windfall. Instead, he decides to pretend to be ill to test the sincerity of his three daughters. The eldest daughter rushes over upon hearing the news to aggressively demand her share; the second daughter plays the victim and cries poverty, scheming at every turn; only the least noticeable youngest daughter rushes back overnight in the pouring rain, quitting her job to care for him by his side. A test in the guise of illness reveals three completely different faces. Who will end up with the compensation money? And can decades of father-daughter bond survive the trial of wealth?
