When his master passes away, an unconventional disciple refines his master's soul into the Ten Thousand Soul Banner and turns his mortal remains into a puppet to aid his own cultivation. Treating demonic cultivation like scientific research, he boldly uses beast blood and rigorous trial experiments to overcome the ancient madness curse of blood-refining. Even as righteous and demonic forces clash in nearby Ning County, he walks his own path toward immortality.
