The Life-Taking Wine at the Birthday Banquet
The highly toxic industrial alcohol stored by liquor distillery owner Chen Yang is stolen by a villager, Zhao Decai, who mistakes it for fine liquor and plans to serve it as the birthday wine at his father's eightieth birthday celebration. Upon discovering the theft, Chen Yang immediately warns the entire village and personally visits Zhao to stop him. But too proud to admit that he stole the alcohol, Zhao even pressures his father into drinking the poison. In the end, the old man dies despite emergency treatment, and Zhao brings disaster upon himself, suffering the consequences of his own actions.

Der hochgiftige Industriealkohol, den Chen Yang, der Besitzer einer Schnapsbrennerei, aufbewahrt, wird von dem Dorfbewohner Zhao Decai gestohlen. In dem Glauben, es handle sich um edlen Schnaps, will er ihn zum achtzigsten Geburtstag seines Vaters servieren. Als Chen Yang den Diebstahl bemerkt, warnt er sofort das ganze Dorf und sucht Zhao persönlich auf, um ihn davon abzuhalten. Doch Zhao Decai ist zu stolz, um den Diebstahl zuzugeben, und zwingt seinen Vater sogar dazu, den Giftalkohol zu trinken. Schließlich stirbt der alte Mann trotz aller Wiederbelebungsversuche. Zhao Decai verursacht eine furchtbare Tragödie und muss die Konsequenzen seines eigenen Handelns tragen.
