During a severe drought on a barren slope, a fleeing couple perishes, but an infant in swaddling clothes miraculously survives. A gray wolf discovers the baby possesses extremely potent Yang energy, and originally intends to eat him to help break through its cultivation realm. Unable to swallow the child directly, the wolf chases away a hyena and leaves the baby at the doorstep of Lanhua, a widow in Qingshi Village. Ein grauer Wolf entdeckt, dass das Baby eine extrem starke Yang-Energie besitzt, und beabsichtigt ursprünglich, es zu fressen, um seinen Kultivierungsdurchbruch zu unterstützen. Da er das Kind nicht direkt verschlingen kann, verjagt er eine Hyäne und bringt das Baby vor die Haustür von Lanhua, einer Witwe im Dorf Qingshi.
