A graduation trip ends in a shipwreck, and Chen Yu and campus beauty Lin Wanqing are left with only each other on a deserted island. Awakening a wilderness survival system, he makes fire by friction, hunts boars to store food, fires pottery and builds a house. In winter he tames the wolf Danhuangpai, subdues the wolf king and the pack, and has them pull sleds, keep night watch and hunt together. Reefs and whirlpools surround the island, so no raft can reach the open sea; they give up on rescue and make the island their home. Then they pull an unconscious woman from the beach, and the charred emblem she carries comes from the sunken ship, bringing new secrets and new dangers.
