Xiao Ran, a peasant youth who lost his parents in the war of Beiliang, was raised by Grandma Zhang from the same village. A turn of fate begins when he is taken away by a reclusive master of the Yunmeng Sword Sect, yet little did he know this was merely the onset of another trial. From the pigsties of the handyman quarters, to the outer sect's spiritual herb garden, then to the inner sect's core, and ultimately onto the continent's grand stage, Xiao Ran relies on a rusted broken sword fragment and an extremely cautious mind to advance step by step in the treacherous world of cultivation. Cultivating the Primordial Desolate Sky Sword Art and mastering ancient alchemy, he condenses an immortal soul with a mortal body, finally dispelling the ancient mist shrouding the Yunmeng Sword Sect and the entire cultivation world to ascend into the immortal realm and begin a new legend.
