Plagues run rampant and corpses litter the fields; Shuozhou has become a living hell on earth. Shen Du takes orders in times of crisis, traveling alone to take office in this dead city abandoned by the imperial court. Shunning empty gestures and braving hardship and danger, he quells chaos with an iron fist and revitalizes the realm through hard work: digging canals to manage water, reclaiming wasteland to grow grain and relieve starvation, building latrines, paving roads, smelting iron, and setting up factories to boost industries, all while severing corrupt networks to protect the people. Carrying the weight of the realm with an earnest heart and rebuilding from the ground up, brick by brick, he ultimately transforms an uninhabited, desolate frontier city into the world's premier city where all people thrive in peace!
