Belated Realization, Worth Less Than Grass
On the day of her prenatal checkup, Lin Nian discovers that her husband, Shen Yan, is actually accompanying his mistress in labor in the same building. Her best friend, elder sister-in-law, and childhood friend were all aware of it, playing along with him for five years. When she goes to confront him, she is instead smeared as a crazy woman and locked in a hospital ward; the mistress and best friend break in, spilling the fetal-protection medicine and unplugging the call line, nearly killing the child in her womb, yet Shen Yan's first reaction is to protect the mistress. A heartbroken Lin Nian gathers evidence in secret, exposes the recording at the full-month banquet, and throws down the divorce agreement: a late awakening, cheaper than grass. In the end, the mistress is sentenced, the best friend is socially ruined, Shen Yan goes bankrupt and lives alone, and Lin Nian travels far away to give birth to her daughter, gaining a new lease on life.
