At his first-birthday selection, Su Yan, the second son of the Su family, cast aside all precious treasures and hugged only the ancient pillar of state fortune left by the dynastic founder, leading the Imperial Preceptor to deem him mediocre and incapable of great things. From that day forth, the young Crown Prince became bound to him by destiny, never leaving his side. By nature quiet, leisurely, and prone to slumber, Su Yan rarely speaks, yet the offhand words he mutters in his dreams consistently foresee disasters and defuse crises in the imperial court. Knowing he bears heaven's fortune, the Crown Prince consults him on everything. Walking together as sovereign and confidant, they quell unrest, soothe the people, rule the realm according to heaven's will, and unite to safeguard peace across the land. Adapted from the Fanqiao novel "At the First-Birthday Selection, I Hugged a Pillar, and the Crown Prince Chased After Me to Cling to My Thigh" by You Xiuye.
