Reborn Empress Su Li personally executes Emperor Jingchang, who plotted to poison her and slaughter her entire clan. To conceal the regicide, she forces Kuang Yinzhou, a boatman who looks identical to the emperor, to impersonate him. Beginning as wary allies bound by poison, the two navigate the scheming Empress Dowager, Noble Consort Chen's framing, and imperial court undercurrents. Unbeknownst to her, Kuang Yinzhou is actually the Fourth Prince commanding the northern armies, holding imperial secrets and a succession decree, while Su Li plans step by step for family vengeance. Amid life-and-death gambits and political maneuvers, the two shed their disguises, develop feelings, unravel layered conspiracies, and ultimately face each other with sincerity to protect both the realm and each other.
