Ten Years of Cured Goods, All for Nothing
Lin Guo'an has been a live-in son-in-law in the Ma family for ten years. Every year, the hard-earned New Year cured goods he prepares are always hauled away by his brother-in-law Ma Chengye to be squandered, and he tolerates it everywhere. However, the savings he and his son Xiaochuan saved for three years to buy a bicycle for school were secretly taken by his wife Ma Xiulan to buy a wedding TV for her younger brother. Heartbroken, Lin Guo'an no longer compromises, rejecting the Ma family's demand for cured goods with a vat of potatoes. Faced with the coercion of his wife's family, he takes out years of bookkeeping records, asks the brigade cadres to mediate, and insists on divorce. Relying on conclusive evidence, he takes back his property and breaks free from a marriage that is constantly being bled dry.
