Lin Yan, a founding member of Hengyuan Technology, is maliciously fired by Xu Man, a newly hired HR employee, on the grounds that AI can replace his skills. Reduced to working as a waiter at an upscale restaurant, Lin Yan unexpectedly encounters Xu Man and her entire department when they come there for a team dinner. Xu Man has plotted to frame the restaurant for food hygiene violations to avoid paying the bill and embezzle the company's team-building budget. Using surveillance footage and evidence, Lin Yan exposes her despicable tricks of planting hair and throwing insects into the food. Xu Man then edits videos and livestreams false accusations to incite online harassment against the restaurant. After the police intervene, the truth comes to light. Xu Man is fired and faces legal action from the company, while repeatedly failing to find another job. She later impersonates her mother to work as a food delivery rider and resell group meals, even attempting to steal her mother's retirement savings, until her mother cuts ties with her.

Ha pianificato di accusare falsamente il ristorante di problemi igienici per non pagare il conto e intascare il budget aziendale destinato alle attività di gruppo. Grazie alle telecamere di sorveglianza e alle prove, Lin Yan smaschera i suoi spregevoli stratagemmi: mettere deliberatamente capelli e insetti nei piatti. Xu Man passa poi al contrattacco montando video e trasmettendo accuse false in diretta per scatenare una campagna di odio online contro il ristorante. Quando interviene la polizia, la verità viene finalmente a galla. Xu Man viene licenziata e deve affrontare conseguenze legali da parte dell'azienda, mentre fallisce ripetutamente nel tentativo di trovare un nuovo lavoro. Arriva persino a spacciarsi per sua madre per lavorare come fattorina e rivendere pasti ordinati in gruppo. Tenta anche di rubare i risparmi per la pensione della madre, finché quest'ultima non decide di tagliare ogni rapporto con lei.
