Stealing the Qilin Pearl was not enough for the Emperor; he even plotted to seize the Qilin King's true body. Xuan Zhan, the Black Water Qilin King, had slumbered for ten years, left with only his soul taking human form, only to discover his pearl had long fallen into Emperor Xiao Chengye's hands. To become a true Qilin, Xiao Chengye led an army of one hundred thousand toward Chashu Village, scheming to swallow the soul and claim the body. While secretly investigating the truth of that year, Xuan Zhan guarded his physical form. In the end, he reclaimed his pearl, awakened his true body, powerfully crushed the invaders, descended upon the capital to bring sweet rain, revived the withered tea hills, and met Shen Yuetang after her decade-long devotion.
