Restaurant owner Gu Jingxuan worked hard for six years and saved money to open a restaurant. His brother-in-law Su Mingyu ran up bills on credit year round, accumulating an outstanding debt of 280,000. Gu Jingxuan went to collect the debt in person, but instead was publicly humiliated. His wife and mother-in-law blindly sided with Su Mingyu and even wanted to seize his shop. Heartbroken and disillusioned, Gu Jingxuan decided to stop internalizing his stress, listened to the suggestion of waiter Meng Jingchun, and transferred the restaurant through official legal procedures.
